Chez
Jay at Montchavin offers a choice between two chalets,
in the La Plagne ski resort:
Colchiques
and
Perce
Neige
Whilst
Chez
Jay at Villaroger has
just one chalet:
Le
Pre
at
Villaroger, in the Les Arcs domain.
Le Pre at Villaroger is a very unique chalet in a very
unique village.
At
Le Pre we have two chalets next door to each other, the old Farmhouse
provides bedroom accommodation, whilst the Lodge provides the additional
bedrooms and the dining and lounge areas.
The front door opens on to a large
south facing terrace with views across the valley to tree covered
slopes leading up to the high altitude border with Italy.
Every
room has a fabulous view!
Whilst central
heating provides the background warmth, there is an original stove
which pumps out an atmospheric warmth, re-creating the ambience of
a bygone age.
The
Longest Black run in the world ends in the back garden:- Read about
it in the resort page.
As
you can see, the buildings are conveniently located together.
The ski lift is a mere 100m away,
so you can eat breakfast until the lift starts. You don't have to
worry about queues - there aren't any. Le Pre has a peak season population
of about 40 skiiers! Close as you are to the lift, there is no need
to walk, it is downhill from the front door, and the piste comes so
close to the back door that you can ski home at the end of the day.
Luxury Bath and Hand towels are provided
for each guest along with complementary soaps and shampoos. A special
welcome tray will greet each guest on arrival in their room and a
number of interesting books and magazines are always available for
those moments when guests need to relax in the comfort of a fireside
armchair.
This chalet has enormous charm with many unique features.
The picture illustrates the ground floor bathroom with it's original
barrel ceiling. The room used to be the village bakery about 100 years
ago!
Chez
Jay at Montchavin offers a choice between two chalets:
Colchique and Perce
Neige.
Colchique:
An individually designed chalet built
high above the village to overlook the spectacular Mont Blanc
massif beyond.
Every room has a fabulous view! All three levels
have under-floor heating that ensure maximum comfort in the coldest
temperatures. Every room has its own thermostatically controlled individual
heater whilst the main living area has a wonderful feature stone built
fireplace for atmosphere and yet more warmth.
Large separate lounge and dining
facilities are able to accommodate everyone with generous space.
The dining room opens on to a large
south facing terrace that offers glorious sunshine throughout the
day for those who might wish to relax from the slopes. Beyond it lies
a dense pine forest and the snow clad peaks of the National
Park du Vanois.
The Lounge has a panoramic view of
Mont Blanc which sparkles in the late afternoon sunshine
as guests take their tea after a long day's skiing...and there's even
a balcony leading directly from it for those wishing to take the air.
All five guest bedrooms have glorious
mountain views, individual heaters, large built in cupboards and fitted
carpets. All three twin/double rooms overlook Mont Blanc,
two of them even have floor to ceiling panorama windows to enhance
the view. Both triple rooms are considerably larger, one offering
a private terrace area with it's own entrance whilst the other has
a south facing balcony with a view over the forest.
Luxury Bath and Hand towels are provided
for each guest along with complementary soaps and shampoos. A special
welcome tray will greet each guest on arrival in their room and a
number of interesting books and magazines are always available for
those moments when guests need to relax in the comfort of a fireside
armchair.
Although our bathrooms are shared,
they are particularly practical as well as being fun to use. There
are three WC's and two large shower rooms each with 2 private shower
cubicles and lots of hand basins. Our facilities are completed with
a large specially built boot/drying room where you
can safely leave your ski gear and boots to dry. Convenient benches
allow you to boot up just a few steps from the main entrance where
a ski locker houses all skis and poles.
This is no ordinary chalet.............it's the best in town!
Perce Neige:
An individually designed chalet built
high above the village to overlook the spectacular Mont Blanc
massif beyond.
This chalet offers luxurious space with room sizes well above
normal for the Alps. The chalet is on the edge of the national
forest, which can be seen from the south facing windows. There are
stupendous views across the valley to Peisey, part of the Les Arcs
ski domain. The piste is about 50metres walk from the front door.
The new Vanoise Express linking Les Arcs and La Plagne, passes close
by overhead, meaning that you are at the centre of 2 vaste ski domains.
All rooms have their own thermostatically
controlled individual heaters whilst the main living area has a wonderful
feature stone built fireplace creating a glowing focal point for apres-ski.
The salon pictured above is enormous,
providing over 40 square metres of space. Breakfast and dinner are
served in one half of the room, and the remaining half is fitted with
comfortable seating in niches and about the log fire.
All six guest bedrooms have glorious
mountain views, individual heaters, large built in cupboards and fitted
carpets. Four of the guest suites have their own pivate balconies.
Two
bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms, the remaining two bathrooms
are each shared by two of the remaining bedrooms.
Luxury Bath and Hand towels are provided
for each guest along with complementary soaps and shampoos. A special
welcome tray will greet each guest on arrival in their room and a
number of interesting books and magazines are always available for
those moments when guests need to relax in the comfort of a fireside
armchair.
Our facilities are completed with
a large specially built boot/drying room where you
can safely leave your skis, ski gear and boots to dry. Convenient
benches allow you to boot up just a few steps from the main entrance.
This
is an enormous yet cosy chalet!
